Survival is not about “grit”; it is a calculation of energy expenditure versus resource acquisition. To survive a societal collapse, one must understand the biological and physical laws that govern human endurance.

1. The Rule of Threes (Statistical Probability)

In a high-stress environment, your timeline is dictated by physiological limits:

  • 3 Minutes: Oxygen deprivation (Ataxia and brain death).
  • 3 Hours: Thermoregulation failure (Hypothermia/Hyperthermia).
  • 3 Days: Hydration deficit (Cellular collapse).
  • 3 Weeks: Caloric deficit (Metabolic failure).

2. Water Purification: Micron Ratings Matter

Don’t rely on “clear” water. Pathogens like Giardia and Cryptosporidium require filtration levels of at least 0.1 microns. For viral threats, chemical treatment (Iodine/Chlorine) or UV-C radiation is required to disrupt pathogen DNA.
